Maruti Suzuki Baleno – All set for Oct 26th launch

Some people still seems to be having trouble understanding the NEXA thingy. Whether to call it Maruti Suzuki Baleno or NEXA Baleno. Well, its very simple. NEXA is the name of network of dealerships by Maruti Suzuki to retail their premium cars. The first car was S-Cross and now the Baleno.

Unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015, the stage is all set for the launch of the much awaited new Baleno and the vehicle starts arriving at Nexa dealerships ahead of 26 October launch.

Here are some fast facts about the car – 

The Baleno measures 3,995mm in length, 1,745mm in width and 1,500mm in height with a wheel base of 2,520mm. The car features 339-litres of boot space and 37-litres of fuel capacity. Powered by a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engine. The petrol produces 83bhp and 115Nm of torque and the diesel will churn out 74bhp and 190Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated to a five-speed manual transmission, while the petrol engine is also available with CVT automatic gearbox. The claimed fuel efficiency of DDiS and petrol are 27.39kmpl and 21.4kmpl respectively.

The Baleno will be sold in Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims and in 7 shades namely Granite grey, Solid fire red, Premium urban blue, Autumn orange, Metallic premium silver, Pearl arctic white and Ray blue.

The new Baleno will compete against Honda’s New Jazz, Hyundai’s Elite i20 and VW’s Polo. This premium offering from Maruti is expected to be priced between 6 – 9 lakh ex-showroom and the pricing is the one that decides the future of the vehicle and you’ll have to wait just two days for that.
