Well deserved I must say, after all, the car is well built and equipped with good amount of features. Needless to say, its IMPACT design language and well made interiors have contributed to its success.

Tata Motors sold 6,008 units of Tiago in November and occupied the 10th position among the top most selling cars during the month, and also contributed 47% of the total passenger vehicles sales to the company.

Tata Motors also beats Mahindra & Mahindra in passenger vehicle sales for November. According to sales data received from industry sources, Tata Motors sold 12,736 units in November compared with 12,707 units sold by Mahindra & Mahindra.

Kaushik Madhavan, Director – Automotive & Transportation, MENASA at Frost & Sullivan, said, “There are two aspects to Tiago’s success — first is Tata Motors has been successful in packaging the car with good features at a competitive price and second is the brand perception that has changed significantly with the introduction of new generation models like Tiago and Hexa.”

Hyundai Grand i10 sold 11,059 units in November this year, as compared to 12,899 units in the same month last year. Hyundai Elite i20 also slipped by two ranks to the ninth rank from the seventh position it occupied in November 2015. Elite i20 sold 7,601 units in November 2016, as compared to 8,264 units in the same month last year.

Renault Kwid has been able to maintain its position in the eighth slot for two consecutive months. The company sold 9,801 units of Kwid in October this year while in November, the company could sell only 7,847 units of Kwid.

Notice the top five slots are occupied by Maruti Suzuki models – Alto, Dzire, Wagon R, Swift and Baleno which sold 23,320 units, 17,218 units, 15,566 units, 14,594 units and 11,093 units, respectively. Alto still seems to be the choice for most first time buyers.
