Maruti Suzuki Ignis commands a waiting period of 6 – 8 weeks

According to several media reports, Maruti Suzuki Ignis commands a waiting period of 6 to 8 weeks, depending on the fuel and the trim. The company is all set to launch its mini crossover on Jan 13th, and bookings have commenced for a refundable deposit of Rs 11,000 at NEXA outlets.

Some reports claim the waiting period to be 4 to 6 weeks for petrol, and 7 to 8 weeks for diesel. This is no surprise with all the buzz and anticipation created around the vehicle, ever since its announcement.

The company has organized an EDM concert with Axwell performing live on January 13th for the launch event. Targeted at Millennials, the Ignis will come in 4 trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. There are two familiar powertrains to choose from. The 1.2 litre (1197 cc) 4 Cylinder VVT petrol producing 82 hp (61 kw) @ 6000 rpm and 113 Nm of torque @ 4200 rpm. On the diesel side, the tried and tested 1.3 litre (1248 cc) 4 Cylinder DDiS producing 74 hp (55.2 kw) @ 4000 rpm and 190 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. Transmission options are 5 Speed manual and an AMT. Note that the diesel is not available in the base Sigma, and the AMT is limited to Delta and Zeta variants only. Read more here
