Delhi based electric bike maker Hero Electric has launched Flash electric scooter at Rs 19,000 ex-showroom, Delhi.

The Hero Flash is powered by a 250 watt (about 0.3 hp) electric motor, drawing power from a 48-volt, 20 Ah VRLA (valve-regulated lead-acid) battery, which is good for 65 km and a top speed of 25 km/h. The bike weighs 87 kg, and features alloy wheels, telescopic suspension, and full body crash guard. Due to its small capacity motor, the Flash doesn’t require registration or a driving licence to ride. There are red black and silver black shades to choose from.

Sohinder Gill, Global CEO, Hero Electric said, “With FLASH, we are moving further ahead with our vision of making India an electrically mobile nation. FLASH is the epitome of the latest and the best of technology available in the e-automobile sphere.”

Hero Electric is led by Vijay Munjal, and is not associated with Pawan Munjal led Hero MotoCorp. The company has manufacturing facility at Ludhiana, and claims to have operations in several other countries after acquiring UK based Ultra Motor, with offices in UK and US.
