Tata Tigor more details revealed

Tata-Tigor

Tata Motors has revealed few more details of the Tigor ‘Styleback’, at the ongoing media drive in Delhi. The compact sedan will be launched on March 29th.

Engines & Transmission
The Tigor will share the engines from its hatch sibling – the Tiago. On the petrol side, there is a 1.2 litre 3-cylinder Revotron, with an output of 85 PS (84 hp) @ 6,000 rpm and 114 Nm of torque @ 3,500 rpm. The diesel is a 1.05 litre 3-cylinder Revotorq motor, producing 70 PS (69 hp) @ 4,000 rpm and 140 Nm of torque @ 1,800 – 3,000 rpm. Numbers are same as the Tiago. Both engines are paired to a 5-Speed manual, and an AMT will be offered at a later point of time.

Features
There will be Harman ConnectNext touchscreen infotainment system with navigation, voice command, 4 speakers & 4 tweeters, reversing camera, automatic AC, and lots of storage spaces, similar to the Tiago.

Safety
Safety features will include dual front airbags, ABS + EBD.

Dimensions
The Tigor measures 3,992 mm in length, 1,677 mm in width and 1,537 mm in height. Wheelbase measures at 2,450 mm and ground clearance is at 170 mm. Boot space measures 419 litres. Fuel tank can carry 35 litres.

Interestingly, there are different wheel sizes for petrol and diesel. While the petrol rides on 15-inch alloy wheels shod with 175/60 tyres, diesel gets 14-inch alloys shod with 175/65 tyres.

Although the Tigor is styled like a fastback, the boot lid is not top-hinged, and opens like a conventional sedan. Geneva Edition photos here
