German tuner Novitec has created ‘Esteso’, its own version of a wide body Maserati Levante. Along with the styling kit, performance upgrades for all engine variants are also available.

The styling upgrade begins with 22-inch wheels which can be had in matte black or black with polished surfaces. These wheels wear 295/30 at the front and even mightier 335/25 tires on the rear axle, and they make full use of the space created by the fender flares.

Novitec says that the bodywork components are manufactured in OEM quality from PUR-Rim. The arched fender flares on front and rear axle add 10 cm to the width of the Levante at the front and 12 cm at the rear, resulting in a new width of 2.09 meters. The kit also includes extension components that mold the flares to the production front and rear bumpers.

The two bumpers also receive aerodynamic-enhancement components. Novitec says, both the front extension component and the spoiler blade attached below it were fine-tuned in the wind tunnel and consequently reduce lift on the front axle at high speeds. The naked carbon hood scoop is optional.

The rear-end sports an extension component, which is integrated into the production bumper. On the side, there are rocker panels that give the Levante a lower and sleeker visual stance. They are intended to create an aerodynamically optimized transition between the wheel arches.

The package includes a standard air suspension that comes with Novitec control module. It lowers the ride height of the SUV by about 25 mm.

The power output of the 6-cylinder turbo diesel engine jumps from standard 202 kW / 275 hp to 237 kW / 322 hp at 3,800 rpm. Peak torque grows to 680 Nm at 2,200 rpm. As a result, the tuned Levante is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.2 seconds. For the Italian market, which ex-factory produces an output of 184 kW / 250 hp, Novitec offers tuning to 221 kW / 301 hp and 680 Nm.

For even more driving fun with the diesel models, Novitec offers a module for the standard electronic Active Sound System of the exhaust. The control unit generates a more powerful engine sound for the V6 turbo diesel when ‘Sport’ mode is selected in the cockpit.

The powerful Levante S gets a tuning of 363 kW / 494 hp at 5,300 rpm and a peak torque of 660 Nm between 1,700 – 4,900 rpm.
