Skoda Auto India Managing Director Sudhir Rao has reportedly resigned from his position, and will serve his term until 30th June. Sudhir’s exit happens during an important time for Skoda, as the company prepares to launch its 7-seater SUV Kodiaq in the Indian market, and will also lead the Tata – VW Group joint venture.

In his 5+ year stint with Skoda India, Sudhir played a key role in transforming Skoda from a loss making company into a profitable one. Previously, Sudhir was with Renault India, General Motors and CK Birla Group’s Avtec Engines.

A spokesperson from Skoda Auto India said, “Sudhir Rao will be leaving Skoda Auto at his own request on 30th June 2017. We would like to thank Sudhir Rao for his commitment over many years and to wish him all the best in his future career. We will be announcing his successor in due course.”

Reportedly, Mr Rao now wants to spend time “outside the automotive industry”.
