State-owned National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has forayed into EV Charging business and has setup first charging stations at its offices in Noida and Delhi. There are plans to setup many such charging points across Delhi/NCR and other cities in near future, said the company in a press release.

The charging points appears to be a collaboration with Mahindra Electric. However, there is no mention on what the NTPC means by ‘charging business’, as in, how much is going to be charged for charging here.

NTPC is one of the major players in electric generation business with an installed capacity of 51,527 MW, including joint ventures with various Indian states, and also with Alstom and Bangladesh Power Development Board. NTPC aims to become a 130 GW company by 2032.

This should be a good news for companies like Tesla, as Elon has plans to foray into the Indian market. More on that here.
