At this year’s Finali Mondiali event at Mugello Circuit in Italy, Ferrari has taken the wraps off the FXX K Evo – the track-only successor to the FXX K. Ferrari said, the extremely limited-run model is available also as an upgrade package for the existing XX cars.

The FXX-K Evo features an evolved aero package developed by Ferrari’s engineers in synergy with the Ferrari Style Centre’s designers. By adopting innovative carbon-fibre component crafting processes, the designers succeeded in producing a lighter car than the previous FXX-K despite introducing new elements such as the fixed rear wing, said Ferrari.

Compared to the previous version, the downforce has been improved by 23%, equivalent of a 75% increase on the road car from which it is derived. Downforce of 640 kg is generated at 200 km/h, and exceeds 830 kg at the car’s red-line speed.

Inside, the new steering wheel now sports the KERS Manettino. The rear video camera screen has been replaced with a larger 6.5” version.

Ferrari said that the FXX-K Evo has undergone around 5,000 km of development runs and 15,000 km of reliability test-drives.

The HY-KERS system generates an output of 1050 hp and over 900 Nm of torque. The system is made up of 6.3 V12 which produces 860 hp and 760 Nm of torque, and a 190 hp electric motor. Transmission too is a 7-speed dual-clutch as before.
