TVS Motor has launched the new Apache RTR 160 4V, priced at Rs 81,490 for the carburetor variant and Rs 89,990 for the EFi (fuel injected) variant. Both prices ex-showroom, Delhi.
As for the design, the new Apache takes the cues from the Draken concept showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. It gets race inspired features such as TVS patented Oil-Cooled Combustion Chamber Technology with ram-air assist, Electronic Fuel Injection system by Bosch, patented split cradle chassis, race-tuned Showa suspension (rear monoshock), optional race-spec Pirelli tyres, and double barrel exhaust.
Powering the bike is a 159.7 cc single cylinder, oil cooled, 4-stroke engine, producing 12.35 kW (17 hp) @ 8,000 rpm and 14.8 Nm of torque @ 6,500 rpm. The carburetor variant produces slightly less power – 12.14 kW (16 hp). The engine is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.
Braking duties are handled by disc brakes measuring 270 mm at front and 200 mm at the rear. Buyers can go for a standard 130 mm drum brake at the rear.
There are 3 colors to choose from – Racing Red, Knight Black and Metallic Blue.
