Mercedes-Benz has launched the most powerful E-Class in India, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+, priced at Rs 1.5 Crore ex-showroom, Pan India.

The new AMG models based on the 5th generation E-Class was unveiled back in November 2016 as part of the Los Angeles Auto Show.

The familiar 4.0‑litre V8 biturbo petrol powers the car, producing 612 hp @ 5750 – 6500 rpm and an incredible 850 Nm of torque @ 2500 – 4500 rpm. The engine features cylinder shut-off technology that shuts off 4 cylinders for better efficiency.

Transmission is an AMG Speedshift MCT 9-speed (multi clutch), sending power to the all four wheels. The 4Matic+ indicates that the AWD system is fully variable, and 100% of torque can be sent to the rear axle. There is also a ‘drift’ mode that is activated in the Race drive program, provided that ESP is deactivated and the transmission is in manual mode. When drift mode is activated, the E 63 S 4Matic+ becomes a pure rear-wheel drive vehicle. Drift mode remains engaged until the driver deactivates it again.

The powerful E-Class sprints from 0-100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and onto a limited top speed of 250 km/h. However, with the AMG Driver’s package, it can be extended up to 300 km/h.

Interiors get the widescreen display that has full digital instrument cluster and COMAND Online infotainment system, flat-bottom steering wheel, AMG Performance seats in black nappa leather and some generous carbon fibre accents.

There is also AMG Track Pace app for customers to analyse and improve their track driving style and can also share it with other AMG drivers via social media.

The E 63 S rides on 20-inch forged wheels in matt black with high-gloss polished rim flanges. Checkout more pictures of the Mercedes-AMG E 63 S 4Matic+ here.

“The new E 63 S personifies driving performance, whether one wants to dwell in the comfortable rear seats and head to work or take the front seat and boss this beast around, we are happy to offer our patrons the best of both worlds,” said Roland Folger, MD & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
