Honda Cars India (HCIL) has launched the 5th generation CR-V, with prices starting at Rs 28.15 lakh ex-showroom, Pan India. The new CR-V was globally unveiled almost two years ago.

Exterior equipment includes full LED headlamps with auto on/off, LED front fog lamps, ORVM-integrated LED turn signals, panoramic sunroof and 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
Interiors get premium Ivory leather upholstery, wood accents, 8-way power driver seat with 4-way lumbar support, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Voice Recognition, 8 speakers, dual-zone climate control, tilt & telescopic steering, cruise control,
Rear AC vents, 3rd row AC with independent controls (diesel), LED reading lights, two USB charging ports at the rear, all four windows auto up/down with anti-pinch, remote opening and closing of sunroof & windows, rain sensing wipers and more. The petrol variant gets remote engine starter as well. The door mirrors automatically tilt while reversing.
Boot space in the diesel variant measures 936 litres when 2nd and 3rd row seats folded. In the 5-seater petrol variant, the capacity is 1084 litres when the 2nd row seats folded.
Safety equipment includes a total of 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Multi-view reverse camera, rear parking sensors, rear defogger, Driver Attention Monitor, Lanewatch camera, Emergency Stop Signal, and walkaway auto lock.
Powering the new CR-V is a 2.0-litre (1997 cc) 4-cylinder petrol engine with 154 hp @ 6500 rpm and 189 Nm of torque @ 4300 rpm. A CVT sends power to the front wheels.
There is also a 1.6-litre (1597 cc) 4-cylinder diesel engine on offer, which develops 120 hp @ 4000 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 2000 rpm. A 9-speed automatic transmission with Shift-by-Wire technology sends power to the front wheels (2WD) or all four wheels (AWD).
Fuel efficiency for petrol variant is claimed at 14.4 km/l. As for the diesel, its 19.5 km/l and 18.3 km/l for 2WD and AWD, respectively.
The CR-V is available in 5 colours – Golden Brown Metallic, White Orchid Pearl, Modern Steel Metallic, Radiant Red and Lunar Silver Metallic.
