Tata Motors wants the success of Nexon to spread beyond the Indian market. The sub-4 metre crossover is already on sale in other markets too, including Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka.
The latest market to enter is Tanzania, where it carries an introductory price tag of TZS 45 Million (Rs 14.32 lakh) for the XMA trim. As with other markets, the Nexon is offered with 1.2L turbocharged petrol and 1.5L turbocharged diesel engines. The power outputs remain unchanged as well. Transmission is a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed AMT.
In September, Tata Motors launched the Nexon Kraz limited edition in India, to celebrate the SUV’s first anniversary.
Along with the Nexon, Tata Motors also launched the Hexa in Tanzania, priced at TZS 81 Million (Rs 25.78 lakh) and TZS 89 Million (Rs 28.32 lakh) for the XT 4×4 and XTA Automatic, respectively.
The Hexa is offered with 2.2-litre Varicor 400 diesel engine with an output of 154 bhp and 400 Nm of torque. Transmission is a 6-speed automatic or a 6-speed manual. The 4×4 variant features Borg Warner AWD system with torque on demand feature.
