Yamaha claims the introduction of dual channel ABS to be the first in 150 cc class. The ABS comes with adjustable fluid pressure which apparently, will be more reliable to ensure immediate braking on slippery roads.
The bike is powered by a 155 cc liquid-cooled 4-stroke engine, developing 19.3 PS @ 10,000 rpm and 14.7 Nm of torque @ 8,500 rpm. The engine is paired to a 6-speed gearbox, and gets Assist & Slipper clutch.
Other features include aluminium swingarm, full-color LCD instrument cluster with gear shift timing light, LED headlamp and tail lamp. The disc brakes measure 282 mm at front and 220 mm at the rear.
“Yamaha has now engineered to implement a dual channel ABS to the YZF-R15 Version 3.0. The initiative to offer dual channel ABS in YZF-R15 Version 3.0 has endowed Yamaha as the trendsetter in the 150 cc class, by introducing it for the first time in the particular segment. Yamaha will continue to optimize the thrill of riding with its style and excitement,” said Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, India Yamaha Motor.
