So, what are we looking at? Well, since it has been established that the auto industry is going all-electric, there has to be something to compensate for the lack of excitement of a V6, V8, V10, or V12. In other words, the carmakers are under tremendous pressure to keep the potential customer excited, and it is getting increasingly hard. The Jaguar re-brand, for example, was one such attempt, and we all know what happened. But either way, the show must go on. And so, Audi has taken the wraps off the Concept C, an all-electric convertible that primarily showcases Audi’s new design language.
According to Audi, the inspiration for the design came from a few past models, including the 1936 Auto Union Type C and the third-gen 2006 Audi A6. The side profile is similar to that of an R8. The exterior finish, the paintwork, is called ‘Titanium’, which apparently evokes warm, technical elegance. The concept is about the size of an R8, and those Mission E concept-ish looking wheels measure 21-inches.
And no, the roof is not made of manually removable panels, but is actually an electrically retractable hardtop. Overall, I think it’s a clean and simple design. It weighs around 1,690 kg (3,726 lbs), which I think is reasonable for an all-electric roadster.

We don’t have the horsepower and torque figures just yet, but Audi plans to get the production version out sometime in 2027. The production version should not look drastically different from what we are seeing now, except for maybe larger headlights and other minor tweaks to comply with regulations.
The interior is just as minimalistic with calm and soothing tones. I love that steering wheel with horizontally oriented circular controls. Notice that there’s no giant touchscreen in the middle? Well, there is a 10.4-inch display, but it is hidden. It can be summoned with a toggle control in the centre console.
