Donkervoort P24 RS debuts with a V6 biturbo

Dutch company Donkervoort has revealed its latest creation, the P24 RS, billed as a more emotional, engaging, and technologically advanced Dutch supercar. Production is limited to 150 units, of which, over 50 are claimed to be already sold to customers in Europe, the US and the Middle East.

Visually, the P24 RS looks quite similar to the F22. The example shown here is wearing a Removable Aero Package that comprises an enlarged front splitter & canards, and rear corner wings, which together, are claimed to generate 90 kg (198 lbs) downforce at 250 km/h (155 mph). While the core of the chassis remains a hybrid combination of alloy tubing and structural Ex-Core carbon-fibre reinforcements, it is claimed to be stiffer and safer than before. The front sub-frame, for example, is made of a single-piece carbon fibre and weighs only 9 kg (20 lbs).

Pop-out headlights might be a thing of the past, but the P24 RS brings them back in style. The ones you see at the top are just DRLs, and the ones at the bottom are the actual headlights, and they remain hidden behind the grille until you want to pop out. They swing out horizontally, which is pretty cool to watch.

The suspension setup includes double wishbones at the front and a multi-link rear layout, with anti-dive and anti-squat geometry. Options list includes adjustable dampers that can be adjusted for ride height and stiffness. Braking duties are handled by ventilated discs gripped by AP Racing 4-piston callipers all around. Carbon-ceramic discs are an optional extra that are claimed to save 2.1 kg (4.6 lbs) per corner. The car rides on a staggered setup of custom rims measuring 18-inch at the front and 19-inch at the rear, wrapped with custom Nankang CR-S tyres.

Moving on to the business-end of the story then, the P24 RS packs a 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo. Where does it come from? Well, from a certain famous manufacturer from Dearborn 😉 Donkervoort probably got a more afFORDable deal this time. This unit, however, uses dry-sump lubrication to lower the centre of gravity by 6 cm. The V6 has been hooked-up with custom turbochargers from Dutch Formula One supplier, Van der Lee. Other mods include 3D-printed exhaust manifolds and CFRP intake manifolds. Transmission is a 5-speed manual with rev-matching tech.

The P24 RS offers three selectable power outputs: 294 kW (400 metric hp), 368 kW (500 metric hp), and 441 kW (600 metric hp). Torque is 800 Nm (590 lb-ft). With the car weighing 780 kg (1,720 lbs) dry, the power-to-weight ratio would be 0.76 metric hp/kg. The official 0-200 km/h (124 mph) sprint time is 7.4 seconds, and the top speed is claimed to be over 300 km/h (186 mph).

Price? According to reports, the base price is somewhere around €298,500.
