The Volvo EX30 has received a couple of updates for the model year 2027. These updates appear to be primarily for the European market, and are expected to be rolled out in a phased manner. The updates include the introduction of the EX30 Black Edition, priced at £40,060 in the UK.
The EX30 Black Edition dips everything in black, including the logos, badges, and, of course, the wheels. More specifically, the body is painted in Onyx Black, which I think looks “sick”, as confused GEN-Z would describe.
The interior of the Black Edition also gets darkened. The regular EX30 gets a new interior theme called ‘Harvest’, apparently inspired by late Scandinavian summer evenings. It includes light-coloured woven recycled textile upholstery, contrasted with Nordico upholstery made from recycled material such as PET bottles.
Other updates include UX improvements to bring the right controls closer at hand, along with a customizable content bar. Depending on the market, the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality will also be available. The V2L essentially allows the car to act as a giant power bank and supply energy to other devices and appliances.
Last but not least, the 110 kW (150 metric hp) variant will now be available with a 51 kWh battery pack, estimated to offer a range of up to 339 km (211 mi). This is market-dependent and is targeted at city users. Earlier, this variant was available only with a larger 69 kWh pack.
