Porsche Taycan continues to lose takers

2025 probably wasn’t Porsche’s best year, but the company delivered a total of 279,449 vehicles, which was still a decline of 10% compared with 310,718 vehicles delivered in 2024. However, North America remains the largest sales region with 86,229 deliveries – a figure that is very close to that of 2024.

The significant decline in the Chinese market is attributed to “challenging market conditions” in the luxury segment and “intense competition” in the BEV segment, which are fully understandable. If you give a Chinese person a choice between a Xiaomi SU7 and a Porsche Taycan, it’s easy to guess what they would pick. 2026 SU7 (RWD) prices start at ¥229,900 ($33,396), while the Taycan (RWD) starts at ¥918,000 ($133,350). See the difference? You’ll get four SU7 for the price of one Taycan.

Which then brings us to the Taycan. Total deliveries were 16,339 units, a 22% decline compared with last year’s 20,836 units—which was already a 49% decline.

But anyway, Macan was the highest-selling Porsche in 2025 with a total of 84,328 units delivered, a 2% increase. Of that total, 45,367 units were Macan Electric. The Macan was followed closely by the Cayenne with 80,886 units delivered, a 21% decline. The Cayenne Electric deliveries are yet to begin. The 911 range did quite well with 51,583 deliveries, a 1% growth. The 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman totaled 18,612 deliveries, down 21% due to the model line’s phase-out. Production ended in October 2025. The Panamera nameplate is getting lost in the crowd, but deliveries of 27,701 units, a 6% decline, wasn’t too bad either.
