The Grand Cherokee Limited and Summit are powered by a 3.0-litre V6 turbocharged diesel engine (named EcoDiesel), producing 240 hp and 570 Nm of torque. An 8-speed automatic transmission comes as standard, and so is a 4WD system with ‘Selec-Terrain’. The Grand Cherokee has a claimed fuel efficiency of 12.8 km/l.

The performance-oriented SRT variant is powered by a massive 6.4-litre HEMI V8 petrol engine producing 470 hp and 624 Nm of torque, and comes mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission. Key features of the range-topping Grand Cherokee SRT include launch control and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system.

The Wrangler Unlimited comes powered by a 2.8-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine producing 197 hp and 460 Nm of torque, and is mated with a 5-speed automatic gearbox. Command-Trac 4WD system is standard. Jeep claims an ARAI certified fuel economy figure of 12.1 km/l for the Wrangler Unlimited.

Currently, Jeep has only two outlets in India, each in Ahmedabad and Delhi, and will expand in a phased manner to Chennai, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Kochi, and Bengaluru later in the year. Check out a first look video of the Grand Cherokee SRT below –
