Sharing its future plans, Opel announced that the brand will offer a total of 8 electrified vehicles by 2021 and the entire product portfolio to be electrified by 2024.

The all-electric Corsa-e was joined by the Grandland X Hybrid4, the brand’s first plug-in hybrid vehicle. The BEV versions of the Vivaro commercial vehicle and Mokka X successor will join the lineup next year, and so are the Combo and Combo Life and the Zafira Life in 2021. Opel’s portfolio of electrified vehicles will also include an electrified version of the next-generation Astra.

This product portfolio will put us in an excellent position to meet the ambitious future emission targets in Europe. Electro-mobility is an indispensable component in this. But our ultra-modern and efficient combustion engines and research into fuel cells at the Rüsselsheim-based Centre of Competence will also make an important contribution to making our company sustainable and future-proof. – Michael Lohscheller, CEO, Opel
