As that old cliché goes, Go With The Flow

The Porsche Cayenne, one of the world’s most beloved SUVs, will enter its 4th generation soon, and it’ll be an all-electric vehicle. Depending on your perspective, that may or may not be a great idea. But unfortunately, due to regulations, the carmakers are left with little to no choice in such matters. It is tough for them to decide if it’ll be the good old V8 biturbo burble or.. you know, the DEI gargle. Which means, it’s probably pointless to talk about perspectives these days without offending someone. But hey, at least in some parts of the world, we still have some freedom of speech 😉

Before the full reveal, it seems like Porsche wants to get some opinions on the upcoming Cayenne’s interior—more specifically, on the dashboard design. Speaking of which, it is almost completely covered with displays, because apparently, that’s what people want these days. Porsche calls it a Flow Display, the one that’s on the centre, the one underneath it, and the one on the passenger side, all together is called a Flow Display, billed as the largest ever installed in a Porsche. The 14.9-inch passenger display is an optional extra and is primarily for entertainment purposes; video streaming is possible here, but I guess the driver won’t be able to see it from his/her seat. The fully digital instrument cluster is a 14.25-inch OLED display. A head-up display with augmented reality is optionally available; it’ll form an effective display size of 8.7-inches.

An AI-powered voice assistant will also be present and it can perform tasks such as climate, seat heating, ambient lighting, play content from streaming services, recognise addresses and points of interest, and share traffic information.

Another highlight is the new surface heating, which warms not only the seats but also large contact areas such as armrests and sections of the door panels. The occupants will also enjoy the largest glass sunroof ever fitted in a Porsche; it boasts a Variable Light Control feature to control transparency.

Last but not least, buyers can choose from 13 interior colour combinations, plus four interior packages and five accent packages. A leather-free interior option is also available.
