Why should Suzuki & Toyota have all the fun?!
Wait a minute! That looks suspiciously familiar, doesn’t it? Well, it looks familiar because it is. The “all-new” Nissan Gravite is nothing but Nissan’s version of the Renault Triber. Does that mean the Terrano is coming back as well? That’s a very interesting question, but don’t get your hopes up just yet. The so-called “introductory” prices for the Gravite start at INR 5.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
| Variants | Prices (ex-showroom) |
| Visia MT | 5,65,000 |
| Acenta MT | 6,59,000 |
| N-Connecta MT | 7,20,000 |
| N-Connecta EZ Shift | 7,80,000 |
| Tekna MT | 7,91,000 |
| Tekna Launch Edition MT | 8,35,500 |
| Tekna EZ Shift | 8,49,000 |
| Tekna Launch Edition EZ Shift | 8,93,500 |
The Nissan Gravite makes a lousy attempt at differentiating itself from the Triber with gaudy and unnecessary design elements. The Launch Edition featured here looks ugly with those red accents on silver C-shaped plastic appliques on the bumper. But anyway, some of the key exterior features, depending on the variant, include LED headlights with LED DRLs, LED taillight signatures, 15-inch dual-tone wheels, and a ground clearance of 182 mm.
The Gravite is powered by a 1.0L 3-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with 53 kW (72 metric hp) and 96 Nm (71 lb-ft). The engine can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT.
Inside, there’s space for up to 7 people, at least on paper, but I guess small-framed 7 adults can comfortably take a ride. Other key features include a 7-inch digital cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, leatherette seat upholstery, cooled glovebox, cooled centre console, PM2.5 filter, wireless smartphone charging pad, and rear AC. The Launch Edition gets a few extra features including ambient lighting, JBL speakers, and a dual dash cam system.
As for safety, 6 airbags, ABS+EBD, ESC, Traction Control, Hill-start Assist, rear parking sensors, and TPMS come standard across the range.
Later this year, Nissan plans to launch the Tekton compact SUV, followed by a 7-seater compact SUV in 2027.
