Last year, the folks at BMW, more specifically, the M Motorsport division, thought that the idea of an M3 Touring race car was simply too wild to actually come into existence. Which made them post a few AI-generated images on social media.

But the internet disagreed; the overwhelming response to that post suggested that the racing wagon should actually come into existence. And so, it did. The BMW M3 Touring 24H is not only now a real thing, but it’ll also compete in May at the 2026 Nürburgring 24 Hours in the SPX class.
The engineers at BMW M Motorsport apparently built this racing wagon in just 8 months. It shares the same technical base as the M4 GT3 EVO, but of course, with an M3 Touring body. The M3 Touring 24H is 200 mm longer and, including the rear wing, 32 mm higher than the M4 GT3 EVO. The technical data of both race cars are identical.
The P58 3.0L straight-six twin-turbo pumps out 434 kW (590 metric hp) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft). A 6-speed Xtrac sequential gearbox drives the rear wheels. Below are a couple of M4 GT3 EVO images just to compare.
