2026 Nissan Kait goes on sale in Brazil

Call me Kait 😉

Nissan has launched the first-ever ‘Kait’ crossover in the Latin American markets, with prices in Brazil starting at R$ 117,990 (US$ 21,400). Production has begun at the Resende Industrial Complex in Brazil, with plans to export to 20 countries.

Variants Price (R$)
Active 117,990
Sense Plus 139,590
Advance Plus 149,890
Exclusive 152,990

While the Kait may seem like an all-new product, it is, in fact, built on the underpinnings of the Kicks, that too the first-gen model (P15). Which means, the Kait is essentially a re-bodied & upgraded first-gen Kicks. The Brazilian market is an interesting one, where Nissan is selling three variations of the Kicks: the first-gen Kicks as the Kicks Play, the second-gen Kicks (P16), and also the Kait.

The Kait features a fairly simple styling, not too much drama, I’d say. The rear-three-quarter photo shows optional accessories such as a rear wing, roof bars, and door cladding. LED headlights and taillights are standard across the range, while 17-inch alloy wheels are standard starting from the Sense Plus trim.

As for the dimensions, the Kait is pretty much the same size as its platform sibling, unsurprisingly. It measures 4,304 mm long, 1,760 mm wide and 1,611 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,620 mm. Luggage capacity is rated at 432 litres.

Powering the Kait is a 1.6L 4-cylinder flex-fuel engine (petrol/ethanol) with varying outputs depending on the fuel. With petrol, the numbers are 81 kW (110 metric hp) and 146 Nm (108 lb-ft). If you put ethanol, the numbers jump to 83 kW (113 metric hp) and 149 Nm (110 lb-ft). A CVT drives the front wheels. No AWD option here.

Key highlights inside include a 7-inch digital cluster, a 9-inch central touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, ‘Zero Gravity’ front seats, auto AC, and ADAS such as Adaptive Cruise Control, a 360-degree camera system, Front Collision Warning, and Rear Cross Traffic Alert.
