Land Rover has launched the 4th model in the Range Rover family – the Velar, in India, with prices starting at Rs 78.83 lakh ex-showroom. The Velar was globally unveiled earlier this year, and sits between the Evoque and the Range Rover Sport.
There are 3 powertrains on offer – two diesel, one petrol with two states of tune as mentioned in the official website –
- D180 – 2.0 turbo diesel (1,999 cc), 177 hp and 430 Nm of torque
- D300 – 3.0 V6 turbo diesel (2,993 cc), 296 hp and 700 Nm of torque
- P250 – 2.0 turbo petrol (1,997 cc), 247 hp and 365 Nm of torque
- P300 – 2.0 turbo petrol (1,997 cc), 296 hp and 400 Nm of torque
Transmission is an 8-speed automatic. The P300 does 0-100 km/h in 6.0 seconds, and onto a top speed of 234 km/h.
