MG Motor India has inaugurated its brand new flagship experience store (showroom) at Milestone Experian Centre, Sector-15, Gurugram, marking an official entry into the Indian automotive scene. The ceremony’s guests included the company’s first Indian dealers. The current network of 120 centres across India will be expanded to 250 centres by September this year.

Bookings for MG Hector commenced today as well for Rs 50,000, with test drives starting from June 15. As for the flagship store, the building will house the brand’s sales operations. On the exterior, the store adopts a unique façade with a grille in an “Upturned Mountain” shape, which signifies the confluence of sky and earth, apparently.

The interiors have a British vibe with cultural icons such as Big Ben, Union Jack, telephone booths and street lamps. The MG History Wall’s Magna strip and brickwork texture further accentuate the brand’s connection with its home. A host of curated MG memorabilia is also strategically placed around the entrance, informing visitors of the brand’s past. There’s also a large video wall of 36 connected TVs to play artfully-created brand videos to further engage visitors.

Prospective customers can approach the configurator wall; they can have their choice of model, transmission type and fuel variant, before proceeding to customize the accessories that their MGs will come equipped with. At 55 inches per screen, the configurator wall is set up in a 6 x 6 format (36 screens) for an immersive experience.

The carmaker has also moved to its new corporate headquarters in Gurugram, ahead of the Hector’s launch scheduled in the next few weeks. The self-owned property is located in the same building as the flagship store. Both facilities have been built under an overall investment of Rs 150 crore.
