Alfa Romeo Tonale PHEV to debut on 8th Feb

Concept

The production version of the Alfa Romeo Tonale is all set to make its debut on 8th February 2022, in Turin, Italy. The Tonale made its debut as a concept at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show; the compact crossover is expected to be the brand’s first plug-in hybrid model.

In fact, it is expected to borrow the powertrain from its American step-cousin, the Jeep Renegade 4xe. Speaking of which, the PHEV powertrain combines a 1.3-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine at the front and an electric motor on the rear axle, with transmission being a 6-speed automatic. And just like the Renegade 4xe, the Tonale might offer two output options: 140 kW (190 metric hp) and 177 kW (240 metric hp).
