Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M) sold a total of 34,351 vehicles in the domestic market in September 2020, registering a decline of 16% compared to 40,692 vehicles sold during the same period last year. The company exported 1,569 units last month — 1,082 units less than it did in September 2019.
Above Domestic Sales includes sales made in the subsidiary company Mahindra Electric.
However, the Passenger Vehicles segment with 14,857 units sold last month registered a growth of 4% compared to September 2019 sales. In the Commercial Vehicles segment, the company sold 18,907 vehicles last month, as against 18,872 vehicles sold in September 2019.
We are happy to witness a growth of 6% in Utility Vehicles. It is also encouraging to see that the enquiry and booking levels in September were significantly higher compared to the previous months, for both UVs and SCVs. With market sentiments indicating a robust festive demand across segments, both in rural and urban markets, we are positive that this festive season will augur well for us as well as the automotive industry. – Veejay Nakra, CEO, Automotive Division, M&M
