Peugeot (Dongfeng Peugeot) has updated its Chinese portfolio with new 4008, 4008 PHEV and 5008 SUVs. The French marque’s 2021 Auto Shanghai lineup also included the e-2008 SUV and a long-wheelbase 508 PHEV saloon.
The 4008 is known as 3008 (second-gen) in markets outside China, while the 5008, well, remains a 5008. Both models received a facelift last year and it doesn’t look any different for the Chinese market, obviously. The e-2008 made its global debut in June 2019.
Both the 4008 and 5008 in China offer two 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engines: a 125 kW (170 metric hp) 1.6L (1,598 cc) unit and a 155 kW (211 metric hp) 1.8L (1,751 cc) unit; the gearbox is an 8-speed automatic. The 4008 PHEV is an AWD model combining a 1.6L turbocharged petrol engine, two electric motors and an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The combined output is 221 kW (300 metric hp) and 520 Nm (383 lb-ft) of torque. It boasts a pure-electric range of up to 59 km (37 mi), drawing juice from a 13 kWh battery pack.

E novinaru, nemaš pojma da 3008 za Europsko tržište i 4008 u Kini NISU isti. 4008 je veće vozilo sa dužim međuosovinskim razmakom. Dakle naziv mu potpuno odgovare jer je negdje na trećinu puta po dimenzijama između 3008 i 5008.
