911 GT3 90 F A Porsche debuts as a birthday gift

Nope, this ain’t one of those one-offs commissioned by a VIP car collector. This is, in fact, an official special edition by Porsche. The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche is a 90th birthday gift to—you guessed it— Ferdinand Alexander Porsche. He no longer physically exists on this planet, but if he were, he would’ve been 90 years old today. Which means, the special edition is limited to 90 units; of those 90, one unit will be handed over to his youngest son, Mark Porsche. The remaining 89 units will be available to order from April 2026.

Nicknamed “Butzi”, F. A. Porsche designed the original Porsche 911, and therefore, it makes total sense to offer a special edition GT3 (touring) to commemorate his 90th birthday. The 911 GT3 90 F. A. Porsche has been created in close collaboration with Mark Porsche. The exterior is finished in F. A. Greenmetallic, a specially created paint for the anniversary model, inspired by the Oakgreenmetallic of Butzi’s own 911. Notice the galvanised gold-plated badge on the boot lid grille.

Another key exterior highlight of this special edition is the Sport Classic wheels. Inspired by the classic Fuchs rims, the wheels are painted satin-gloss black. The wheel hub covers feature the historic 1963 crest. There are no mechanical changes with regard to the powertrain or suspension setup. As mentioned, the 911 GT3 90 F A Porsche is based on a 911 GT3 Touring. Which means the 4.0L N/A flat-six offers the same 375 kW (510 metric hp) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft).

Inside, as you can probably tell, the nostalgia is a lot stronger. Stronger than my morning coffee. Brown is the main theme for the interior. More specifically, the Truffle Brown Club leather has been used generously throughout. The seats are upholstered in a combination of the aforementioned leather and fabric with a special F. A. Grid-Weave. The pattern of the fabric features five colours. Black, Green, Truffle Brown, Cream and Bordeaux Red.

The Sport Chrono watch at the top of the dashboard is based on the original Chronograph I, which was created as a one-off piece for F. A. Porsche. Another highlight inside the car is the open-pore walnut plywood gear knob. A gold-plated plaque, ‘One of 90’ on the dashboard, illuminated door sill, and a welcome light projection are among the other key highlights.
