Tata Sierra EV launched at Rs 18.79 lakh

The third-gen Tata Sierra just got its all-electric sibling, with introductory prices starting at INR 18.79 lakh, ex-showroom, Mumbai. There are multiple variants to choose from, including a dual-motor AWD variant (branded as QWD).

Variants 63 kWh RWD 75 kWh RWD 75 kWh AWD
Pure 18.79
Pure S 19.99
Adventure 20.99 22.19
Empowered 22.79 23.79
Empowered A 24.79 25.99

The prices above exclude the charger and installation cost. A 7.2 kW AC charger will cost INR 49,000 extra.

Except for an EV-typical closed-off front fascia, the Sierra.ev looks identical to its ICE sibling. Those 19-inch alloy wheels (top-spec models) are the same too. The base model carries a good amount of standard features, including LED projector headlights, the so-called light saber DRLs, flush door handles with welcome lights, and electric tailgate release. From Pure S onwards, you also get front LED fog lights with cornering and a voice-assisted panoramic sunroof.

Inside, some of the key features depending on the variant, include a triple screen setup, wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay, Amazon Alexa Voice Assistant, 6-way powered driver seat with memory & welcome, front ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, air purifier with AQI display, 12-speaker JBL audio system, Harman AudioworX tuning, and Boss Mode. The top-spec Empowered A variant gets the ADAS Level 2 suite. In addition to a 622-litre boot space, there’s also a 55-litre frunk; the AWD’s frunk is a bit smaller at 35-litres, understandably.

The Sierra.ev 63 variant packs a single rear electric motor, offering 175 kW (238 metric hp) and 315 Nm (232 lb-ft). A 63 kWh battery pack is estimated to offer a real-world range of anywhere between 440 and 460 km (273-286 mi). Next up, we’ve the Sierra.ev 75, offering a power output of 154 kW (209 metric hp), while the torque remains the same. A 75 kWh battery pack is estimated to offer a real-world range of anywhere between 510 and 530 km (317-329 mi).

Finally, we’ve the dual-motor Sierra.ev 75 QWD with a 154 kW (209 metric hp) rear electric motor and a 103 kW (140 metric hp) front electric motor. The combined torque is 504 Nm (372 lb-ft). A 75 kWh battery pack is estimated to offer a real-world range of anywhere between 480 and 500 km (298-311 mi). In Boost Mode, the official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 5.8 seconds.

For first registered owners, Tata Motors is offering a 15-year warranty on the battery pack. For the motor, it’ll be 8 years or 1,60,000 km (whichever is earlier). For the vehicle itself, it’ll be 3 years or 1,25,000 km (whichever is earlier).
