Driven: Renault Zoe in India

So, this electric car Renault Zoe is in Bengaluru for a company called Lithium Urban Technologies, and I was told that Renault is doing a feasibility study with the company in order to “consider” this car for the Indian market. It will be here for a few more days, so I thought why not have a look.

Said to be based on the Clio hatch, the Zoe is bigger than some entry-level regular hatches sold in India. The large logo on the outside doubles up as a charging port. The exterior has a subtle blue treatment, including logo, headlamps, DRLs and even the windows. The key fob is unique, it’s called “key card” here.

The Zoe scores high on the practicality with storage spaces and cubby holes, plus 338 litres of boot space. You can fold down the rear seats if you need more. The cabin is done up in white adding to more airiness feel. Equipment list includes dual front airbags, front curtain airbags, ABS+EBD, ESC, climate control, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, cruise control and many more.

The Zoe with its 87 hp and 220 Nm electric motor is incredibly fun to drive car. It has a range of about 130 miles (209 km) on a full charge. Watch the video embedded above, and subscribe to our YouTube channel if you haven’t already.
