As promised at the 2016 LA Auto Show, Alfa Romeo has unveiled a less-powerful Stelvio First Edition, which is now available for ordering. Unlike the powerful Quadrifoglio, this is more of a standard version, and initial units are arriving in the EMEA Region soon.

Design wise, it loses all the Quadrifoglio bits. In simple terms — “sporty elements” such as the alloy wheel design, larger discs, bumper design, blacked-out roof, rear diffuser and so on. Same story on the inside as well, it gets a simple wood and leather treatment, no carbon bits and red contrast stitching like in the Quadrifoglio. But you still get 20-inch wheels, coloured brake callipers, Bi-Xenon headlights, aluminium paddle shifters, leather steering wheel, electrically adjustable and heated leather seats, 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system developed in collaboration with Magneti Marelli featuring a 3D navigation and digital radio (DAB), and a 7-inch TFT in the instrument cluster.

Powering the Stelvio First Edition is a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine, producing 280 hp at 5,250 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 2,250 rpm. Transmission is taken care by an 8-speed ZF automatic. Power is sent to all four wheels via ‘Q4’ all wheel drive system. The Alfa’s Q4 AWD system can transfer as much as 50% of the power to the front wheels when required via a dedicated transfer case; in normal conditions, 100% is sent to the rear axle.

Standard equipment in the Stelvio First Edition include Integrated Braking System, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Brake, Lane Departure Warning, rear camera with dynamic guidelines, front and rear parking sensors, power-operated tailgate and automatic main beam headlights. It misses out on Torque Vectoring, carbon-ceramic discs and Alfa’s Chassis Domain Control (CDC).

The First Edition can sprint from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds.
