Globally limited to just 991 units, A white green-striped Porsche 911 R has found a home in Bengaluru. India’s only 911 R will share the garage with several other Porsches including a Cayman GT4, an Aston DBS, Huracan, and a 458 Speciale.

The 911 R is built on the previous gen 911, and not the 911.2. It packs a 4.0 litre horizontally opposed flat-six naturally aspirated engine, producing 368 kW (500 hp) @ 8250 rpm and 460 Nm of torque @ 6250 rpm, paired to a 6 Speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels. 0 – 100 km/h happens in 3.8 seconds, and top speed is rated at 323 km/h.

The bonnet and wings of the 911 R are made from carbon fibre-reinforced plastic, the roof from magnesium, the rear side windows from polycarbonate, and the rear seating area has been omitted, resulting in a gross weight of just 1,370 kg. Automatic Climate Control and infotainment system can be added at no additional cost.

Standard equipment include Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV), and rear-axle steering. The 911 R rides on a 20-inch GT3 wheels.
