2017 Hyundai Verna facelift grows in size

The new Hyundai Verna facelift is expected to be launched in India this month, and as always, some of the details have surfaced online.

Besides the obvious design upgrades, the new Verna is larger than the outgoing model. The vehicle now measures 4,405 mm in length (30 mm longer) and 1,729 mm in width (29 mm wider). The increased length translates into 30 mm longer wheelbase at 2,600 mm. However, the height has been reduced by 6 mm.

Speaking of the powertrains, the 1.4 and 1.6 petrol and diesel units have been retained, and so are the 5-speed MT, 6-speed MT, and 4-speed AT transmissions. The output figures are the same too.

Petrol
The 1.4-litre 4-cylinder petrol produces 107 PS and 135 Nm, paired to a 5-speed MT, while the 1.6-litre unit makes 123 PS and 155 Nm, with an option of 5-speed MT or 4-speed AT.

Diesel
The 1.4-litre 4-cylinder diesel makes 90 PS and 220 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed MT, while the 1.6-litre unit makes 128 PS and 260 Nm of torque, with an option of 6-speed MT or 4-speed AT.
