Renault plans 8 pure electric vehicles by 2022

Renault announced Drive The Future, a new six-year plan, where one of the goals is to have 8 pure electric vehicles, 12 electrified models, and 15 vehicles with autonomous capability.

The plan also aims to deliver annual revenues of over €70 billion and achieve a group operating margin of over 7% by the end of the plan.

Key elements of the plan include 21 new vehicles, expanded Russia presence through Renault and investments in AVTOVAZ (Lada), new strategic joint ventures in EV and LCV in China, R&D Investment of €18 billion over six years, new mobility services – Ride-hailing, robo-taxi services by end of plan.

The company aims to save €4.2 billion in production.

The plan also includes expanding their market share in Brazil, India, Iran.

Renault’s current electric range has ZOE, Kangoo Z.E., Twizy, Fluence Z.E. and Master Z.E. – a large van. The Megane Z.E. – a hatchback version of the Fluence Z.E. is reportedly under development.
