Lexus NX 300h showcased for India

Lexus has showcased the NX 300h hybrid crossover for the Indian market. There’ll be two variants on offer – the NX 300h Luxury and F Sport.

The NX is Lexus’ smallest, entry-level crossover. Power comes from a 2.5-litre in-line 4-cylinder Atkinson cycle petrol engine, producing 158 hp (116 kW) at 5,700 rpm and 206 Nm (152 lb-ft) of torque between 4,200-4,400 rpm, paired with an e-CVT with simulated shifts.

There are two electric motors, one each at the front and rear axle, producing 143 hp (105 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) at the front and 68 hp (50 kW) and 139 Nm (102 lb-ft) at the rear. The battery is of a Nickel-metal hydride.

The hybrid system total output is 197 hp (145 kW), and the AWD SUV accelerates 0-100 km/h (62 mph) in 9.2 seconds and maxes out at 180 km/h (112 mph).

Feature list includes 8-way power-adjustable and ventilated front seats, dual-zone climate control, electrically adjustable steering wheel, panoramic sunroof, 10.3-inch infotainment, 14-speaker Mark Levinson audio system, heads-up display, wireless smartphone charging, cruise control, start/stop system, full LED headlamps with headlamp cleaner, power tailgate, rain sensors and more.

There are 5 driving modes on offer – Eco, Normal, Sport, Sport +, Custom. There’s also an EV drive mode that uses just the electric motors for a zero-emission drive.

The vehicle gets Adaptive Variable Suspension that adjusts shock-absorber damping rates while driving, for a smooth ride.

Safety kit includes 8 airbags, ABS, Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, 360° Panoramic View Monitor, reversing camera, LED Front Fog Lamps + Cornering Lamps.

2018-Lexus-NX

The F Sport variant, as the name suggests, is a sportier variant inside-out with some really good looking colors and a new set of wheels.

Lexus India recently announced that it is going to operate as an independent organisation. Local assembly is reportedly under consideration.
