Lexus has launched the 5th generation LS 500h full-size luxury sedan in India with prices starting at Rs 1,77,21,000, ex-showroom.
Built on Lexus’ Global Architecture – Luxury (GA-L) rear-wheel drive platform, the new LS 500h is longer, lower and wider than the sedan it replaces.
The LS 500h is powered by a 3.5-litre (3,456 cc) V6 with two electric motors, producing a combined output of 354 hp @ 6,600 rpm and 350 Nm of torque @ 5,100 rpm. 0-100 km/h acceleration happens in 5.4 seconds and top speed is limited to 250 km/h.
Transmission is a 10-Speed automatic with “Artificial Intelligence Shift” that uses information from the G sensor to understand when to downshift when braking, and how many gears to drop down.
There is also an EV drive mode for silent and zero-emission drive.
Other kit includes Adaptive Variable Suspension, 6 drive modes, auto lift-up function to enter and exit with ease, 23-speaker Mark Levinson surround sound system, 14 airbags and more.
“For those who have arrived in life, the Lexus LS500h has now arrived in India. We are so thrilled to be adding the LS500h to our line-up here. When we think of the exacting standards of the most discerning Indian car owners, we are confident the new LS will impress and delight – through its design, its performance, and the efficiency of the world’s first multi stage hybrid system,” said N Raja, Chairman, Lexus India.
