BMW 520i re-introduced in India

BMW has re-launched the 520i (5 Series Petrol) in India at a price of Rs 54 lakhs, ex-showroom, Delhi. The 520i will be brought to India as a Completely Built-up Unit (CBU), and is available in the “Luxury Line” trim. On the exterior, the Luxury Line trim has chrome garnishings and 18 inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. For the interiors, there is a choice of Dakota Black, Veneto Beige, Dakota Oyster leather.

The BMW 520i is powered by a 1997 CC TwinPower Turbo 4 Cyl petrol engine, producing 184 hp @ 5000 rpm and 270 Nm of torque @ 1250-4500 rpm, and is mated to an 8 Speed Steptronic automatic transmission. The car will do 0-100 in 7.9 seconds, and has a claimed fuel efficiency of 14.04 km/l.

Feature list of 520i include adaptive LED headlights, BMW Driving Experience Control with ECOPRO Coasting (Modes: ECOPRO, Comfort, Sport), electric sunroof, start/stop function, brake energy regeneration, 16 speaker Harman Kardon surround sound system, BMW Condition Based Service (Intelligent maintenance system), Cornering Brake Control (CBC), Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) including Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) and many more.

BMW had stopped the sale of 3 series and 5 series petrol models in India last year, and the re-introduction of the 520i comes after the diesel ban in Delhi-NCR region.
