While most Indians are yet to get acquainted with the 2017 model, Ford has revealed a sleeker, more powerful 2018 Mustang in the United States. The 2018 model adds some new features, 10-speed automatic transmission, 3 new colors, 12 wheel design choices, and drops the 3.7 litre V6.

On the performance side, the 2.3-litre 4-cylinder EcoBoost engine has been reworked for more torque. The 5.0 V8 has been reworked as well, and it now revs higher than any Mustang GT before. This engine gets high-pressure direct injection and low-pressure port fuel injection, and a compression ratio increase from 11:1 to 12:1, resulting in low-end torque, high-rpm power, and improved fuel efficiency. Power, torque and efficiency figures are yet to be released. Both engines can be had with a new 10-speed automatic transmission.

The manual transmission for both engine options has been upgraded for optimal torque. For the V8, the manual transmission has been redesigned to include a twin-disc clutch and dual-mass flywheel to increase torque capability and deliver more efficient clutch modulation.

Features wise, it gets a 12-inch digital instrument cluster that can change color based on how hard the car is being pushed. MagneRide damping is a new option with the Mustang Performance Package. Active valve exhaust system with fully variable soundtrack to match the entire acceleration range is optional as well. The 2018 Mustang goes on sale in North America this fall.
