Unlike the international model, the Indian version loses the LED lights mounted on the new “Cascade Design” grille, and gets larger fog lamps with LED DRLs in a boomerang shaped housing. Lower trims get a chrome lining in place of DRLs.

Interiors have been refreshed as well with the addition of a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, navigation, Bluetooth, reversing camera, and voice command. Lower variants get a 5-inch touchscreen audio unit. Auto AC, driver seat height adjustment, electric OVRMs (adjustable and foldable), steering mounted controls, rear AC vents, smart key, and rear parking sensors add to the features list.

The biggest change is under the hood. The 1.1-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine has made way for a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder unit, producing 75 PS (74 hp) of power and 194 Nm of torque. This engine has an ARAI rated fuel efficiency of 24.4 km/l. Petrol engine continues to be the same 1.2-litre 4-cylinder unit, producing 83 PS (82 hp) of power and 114 Nm of torque. Transmission options remain unchanged. A 5-speed manual is standard, and an optional 4-speed auto for the petrol.

Hyundai claims to have made some tweaks to the petrol engine, such as the adoption of Alternator Management System (AMS), improvement of engine oil viscosity levels, and use of low friction bearings in the transmission, which are claimed to improve the engine’s fuel economy by around 4.6%. As a result, the new Grand i10 petrol will now deliver a claimed economy of 19.77 km/l, as compared to 18.9 km/l in the outgoing model.

A driver airbag is standard across the range, while the top-end model gets passenger airbag and ABS too.

Y K Koo, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India Ltd said, “Grand i10 is a phenomenal product. It is an aspirational car that has won the hearts of its customers across the globe and has become a landmark product in HMIL’s growth story.
