The Sentra is Nissan’s best selling model in the U.S. market since 1982 with millions of units sold so far. Which is why the 8th generation model made its debut at the 2019 LA Auto Show, and goes on sale in late January 2020.

Naturally, the new Sentra adopts the signature V-motion grille with slim LED headlamps and gets a sharper, chiseled overall styling for a global appeal. As we can see in the pictures, there are new colors on offer including three new dual-tone combinations.

The fresh interiors give off premium vibes with its layout and usage of materials. Available amenities range from quilted, leather-appointed, heated front seats and heated outside mirrors to Nissan’s NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats and Intelligent Around View Monitor. Infotainment and connectivity features include an available floating 8-inch multi-touch center display and NissanConnect featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

As for safety and driver assistance technologies, the new Sentra gets Nissan Safety Shield 360, a suite of 6 advanced driver-assist systems that includes Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Rear Automatic Braking, and High Beam Assist. Safety features also include standard 10 airbags, Rear Door Alert, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning, and Intelligent Driver Alertness.

The 2020 Sentra gets a new 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder gasoline engine rated at 149 hp and 146 lb-ft (198 Nm) of torque, an increase of 20 percent and 16 percent respectively over the previous generation’s 1.8-litre unit.

Nissan said that the dynamic performance has been greatly improved through the use of a new independent rear suspension and a new rack electric power steering system.

The new engine is paired with ‘Xtronic’ CVT. More details will be available closer to launch.

With more than 6 million Sentra vehicles sold, we believe the all-new Sentra will reach new heights offering refinement and quality, technology and performance not seen before. The lower stance and more athletic design cues from the Maxima sports sedan give Sentra a sexy new look. – David Kershaw, Vice President, Nissan Sales & Regional Operations, Nissan North America
