Powertrains
The new Creta in India borrows the powertrains from the Seltos. The petrol engine is a 1.5-litre (1,497 cc) 4-cylinder unit producing 115 hp at 6,300 rpm and 144 Nm of torque at 4,500 rpm, paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT. Also on offer is a 1.5-litre (1,493 cc) 4-cylinder diesel engine that puts out 115 hp at 4,000 rpm and 250 Nm of torque between 1,500-2,750 rpm, paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission.

For those looking for performance, Hyundai is offering a 1.4-litre (1,353 cc) 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, tuned to produce 140 hp at 6,000 rpm and 242 Nm of torque between 1,500–3,200 rpm, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Unlike the Seltos, there is no manual transmission on offer for the turbo petrol. These engine variants get Traction Control with Snow, Sand & Mud modes.

Power is sent to the front wheels only. The automatic variants (including CVT) get paddle shifters. I’m guessing the CVTs (branded as IVT) will have some sort of simulated shifts because you’re not actually shifting anything.
