BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe and M8 Coupe launched in India

Following the resumption of its Chennai plant, BMW has launched the 8 Series Gran Coupe and M8 Coupe in India, with prices starting at Rs 1,29,90,000 and Rs 2,15,00,000 respectively. However, both cars are imported to India as completely built-up units (CBU).

The M Sport Edition gets BMW Laserlight, chrome line ‘BMW Individual high-gloss Shadow Line’, a choice of bespoke BMW Individual paint finishes and the ‘M Aerodynamic’ package. The ‘M Aerodynamics’ package features extra-large air intakes, specially designed side skirts and rear apron with diffuser insert in Dark Shadow metallic, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels in double-spoke style, M lettering, two chrome exhaust tips, and various M interior equipment features. Powering the 8 Series Gran Coupe in India is a 3.0-litre (2,998 cc) straight-six turbocharged petrol engine, producing 250 kW (340 hp) between 5,000-6,500 rpm and 500 Nm of torque between 1,600-4,500 rpm, paired with an 8-Speed Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.

Those who want just two doors and more performance, they can, of course, go for the M8 Coupe. Features include BMW Laserlight, 19-inch M light-alloy wheels, M Sport seats, 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and a lot more. Download the brochure here.

The M8 Coupe in India is powered by a 4.4-litre (4,395 cc) twin-turbo V8 petrol engine, producing 441 kW (600 hp) at 6,000 rpm and 750 Nm of torque between 1,800-5,600 rpm, paired with an 8-speed M Steptronic Sport automatic transmission.
