If you like classics and restomods, you’re gonna love Totem Automobili’s rendition of Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA. It has been re-created as a ‘GT electric’ with over 500 hp.

As for the design, the Venice-based boutique carmaker has made the car 180 mm wider with Giulia GTAm-inspired front fascia. The carbon fibre front grille features geometric patterns, and the headlights are LEDs with the inner ones positioned a bit lower in the grille. The side profile looks super clean with classic-looking 17-inch wheels; the wheels are wrapped with mixed-size tyres. I think the best angle to look at is from the rear or rear-three quarters; those circular LED taillights go really well with the rest of the modifications.

The brake discs at all four corners measure 345 x 28 mm. As for the suspension, the Bilstein dampers are manually adjustable, while there’s an option for electrical ones.

The body shell is made of carbon fibre, including the hood and trunk. As an option, the roof and doors can also be made from carbon fibre. Buyers can also specify a full roll cage. Depending on the specification, the car weighs between 1,270-1,410 kg (2,800-3,108 lbs).

The cabin is a brilliant mix of ’60s design and today’s technology; notice the circular digital displays for the driver. The aluminum steering wheel is made by Momo and is wrapped in genuine leather, and the original seats have been replaced with carbon fibre buckets with leather-wrapped padded inserts. Also, notice a vintage-looking infotainment system. Other features include heating and air conditioning system. You might be wondering what’s up with that sequential gear shifter. Well, apparently, it is there to “intensify your emotions” and so is a mechanical handbrake lever. In fact, the car features a total of 13 speakers to simulate an ICE sound.

The mid-rear mounted electric motor develops 381 kW (518 metric hp) and 980 Nm (723 lb-ft) of torque. Totem claims a 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 245 km/h (152 mph). The battery pack is of 50.4 kWh capacity and is claimed to offer a range of up to 360 km (223 mi). The car will come with a 22 kW onboard charger.
