Porsche and Manthey Racing have collaborated again for the Manthey Kit for 911 GT3, this time, of course, for the 992.2 911 GT3. The new kit is expected to be available from March 2026 at Porsche Centres. The kit is claimed to offer even better performance on the racetrack.
So then, what’s all the hoopla? Well, the front lip has been redesigned and extended forward by 12 mm. There are diffuser fins in the front underbody (also known as turning vanes) and canards on the sides to increase downforce at the front axle. The vanes have been extended by one metre, to 1.5 m. The rear wing with swan-neck mounts is wider, and the end plates have been enlarged and are visibly curved inwards to achieve optimal airflow. The rear diffuser fins are longer.
The carbon-fibre wheel covers (aerodiscs) at the rear appear to be larger than before. Lightweight 20- and 21-inch forged wheels are available as an option, which are claimed to cut down unsprung mass by a total of 6 kg (13 lbs) compared with the standard wheels. They are available in Brilliant Silver, Neodyme and Black (silk gloss). Braided steel brake lines are included as standard in the kit. As an option, special racing brake pads for the Porsche Ceramic Composite Brake (PCCB) system are available.
Overall, the downforce is claimed to be greatly increased while drag remains the same. At 285 km/h (177 mph), the 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit in Road Mode produces 355 kg (782.6 lbs) of total downforce, while in Circuit Mode (not intended to be used on the road), the downforce increases to 540 kg (1,190.5 lbs).
There are some other visual elements the buyers can opt for, including carbon door sill trims with illuminated Manthey lettering, LED door projectors with white Manthey lettering, and of course, the option of applying the Manthey lettering to the doors. The tow straps (circuit use only) are also part of the options list, available in red, black or yellow. Want to spend more? Carbon-fibre front air outlets and rear air intakes are optionally available.
On the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the 911 GT3 Manthey Kit lapped the 20.8-kilometre circuit in 6:52.981 minutes – 2.76 seconds faster than the previous-gen (992.1) 911 GT3 with Manthey Kit. DTM Champion Ayhancan Güven was behind the wheel. Both cars were equipped with the optional Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tyres.
