2026 Nissan Z Nismo MT confirmed

Nissan has revealed its lineup for the Tokyo Auto Salon 2026 (January 9 to 11, public days), which includes the refreshed Fairlady Z, expected to go on sale in Japan in summer 2026. The refreshed Z is expected to go on sale also in the U.S. market as a 2027 model.

We don’t have full details just yet, but according to Nissan, the revised design is aimed at increasing aerodynamic performance. From the front-three-quarter angle, the “new” car appears identical to the one we saw in late 2023, but there may be subtle improvements we haven’t noticed yet.

But the important point is, of course, the option of having the Z Nismo with a 6-speed manual transmission. Currently, the Z Nismo is available only with a Mercedes-sourced 9-speed automatic transmission. The manual option is available only with the regular Z.

Will there be more numbers? Not sure at the moment. Currently, the Z Nismo packs a 3.0-litre twin-turbo V6 with 309 kW (420 metric hp) and 520 Nm (383.5 lb-ft).
