2027 RAM 1500 TRX debuts with a HEMI V8

After a short break, the RAM 1500 TRX has returned to the North American markets with the 2027 RAM 1500 SRT TRX and the 2027 RAM 1500 SRT TRX Bloodshot Night Edition, billed as the most powerful, production, street-legal, gas, half-ton pickup ever. The trucks will go on sale in the second-half of 2026. Prices will be announced closer to the launch date.

Some of the key highlights of the 2027 RAM 1500 SRT TRX include suspension travel of up to 330 mm (13-inch) at the front & 356 mm (14-inch) at the rear, Dana 60 rear axle with full floating axle shafts, second-gen Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive performance shocks, rear electronic locking differential with an axle hop damper, standard 35-inch tires, and 11.8-inch (30 cm) ground clearance.

Those 18-inch beadlock wheels are optional (standard on Bloodshot Night Edition). Powering the RAM 1500 SRT TRX is, of course, the iconic 6.2L supercharged (2.4L twin-screw) HEMI V8, pumping out 579.5 kW (777 bhp/788 metric hp) and 922 Nm (680 lb-ft). The engine is coupled with an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission and a BorgWarner 48-13 full-time active transfer case.

The transfer case offers a 2.64:1 low range for precise crawling maneuvers, in addition to selectable 4WD Auto, 4WD High (locked) and 4WD Low (locked) functionalities. A 127 mm (5-inch) full stainless-steel sport-tuned exhaust system rounds off the driving experience.

Talking about performance figures of a truck is ridiculous, but why buy a performance truck in the first place if you’re not interested in that, right? Well, the official 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time is 3.5 seconds and the top speed is 190 km/h (118 mph).

Key highlights inside include a 12.3-inch digital cluster, a 14.5-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay & Android Auto connectivity, a full-colour Head-up Display (HUD) with a 10-inch field of view, and a 19-speaker Harman Kardon audio system. The front seats feature 12-way power adjustability, memory, massage, heating and ventilation functions. The truck also boasts Level 2 automated driving capability.
