Chevrolet has revealed the 2018 Traverse, which promises best-in-class third-row legroom, maximum cargo room and passenger volume. For the uninitiated, the Traverse is a full-size crossover SUV sold in the United States, replacing Uplander and Trailblazer.

The second-generation model is built on GM’s C1XX platform, which is also shared with the 2017 Cadillac XT5, 2017 GMC Acadia, and 2018 Buick Enclave as well.

There are two new trim levels for the 2018 Traverse – RS and High Country. The RS package includes blacked-out exterior cues with a black chrome grille, black bowtie, 20-inch wheels and more. The High Country trim features premium content and technology, including an interior trim featuring Loft Brown leather appointments with suede accents, 20-inch polished wheels, High Country badging, D-Optic LED headlamps, standard twin-clutch AWD and power-fold third-row seats.

“The all-new Traverse blends Chevrolet’s characteristic SUV cues with capability and refinement,” said John Cafaro, Executive Director, Global Chevrolet Design. “Inside and out, it offers style with a purpose”.

Equipment list includes 7 or 8-inch MyLink infotainment systems supporting Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, as well as an optional OnStar 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, USB charging ports in all three seating rows, wireless charging, D-Optic LED headlamps, Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning, Front Pedestrian Braking, Forward Collision Alert, Low and High-Speed Forward Automatic Braking.

Powering the Traverse is a 3.6-litre V6 petrol engine, producing 305 hp at 6,800 rpm and 351 Nm of torque at 2,800 rpm. There is 2.0-litre 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine as well, producing 255 hp at 5,500 rpm and 400 Nm of torque at 3,000 rpm. Both engines come paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission.

The SUV measures 5,189 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,795 mm in height. Wheelbase measures at 3,071 mm. Cargo capacity is at 651 litres with all rows up, 1,645 litres with the third row folded, and 2,789 litres with second and third rows folded, which should be good enough to move your entire house.
