The new Opel Corsa GSi (also sold as Vauxhall Corsa), is now on sale in the European markets with prices starting at €19,960 in Germany (including VAT).

The GSi is the sportier variant in the Corsa 3-door line up, and gets some athletic exterior looks. Speaking of which, the car features large air intakes, sculptured bonnet, prominent rear spoiler, and side sills. The grille at the front gets a honeycomb pattern and the rear view mirror housings get carbon fibre like finish.

Opel says that the rear spoiler is not just for looks but also creates additional downforce. The exhaust tailpipe has a chrome tip. 17-inch wheels come as standard while the buyers can opt for a sportier  18-inch Y-spoke light alloy wheels shod with 215/40 tyres. Notice the red painted brake calipers as well.

As for the interiors, buyers can opt for the Recaro performance seats. Other features include satin chrome and piano black accents, flat bottom steering wheel, leather gearshift knob, aluminium sport pedals, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control and height adjustable passenger seat.

Powering the “hot hatch from Rüsselsheim” is a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 110 kW/150 hp and 220 Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed manual transmission which according to the company, is optimised for the winding roads. 0-100 km/h acceleration takes 8.9 seconds and apparently takes 9.9 seconds to accelerate from 80 to 120 km/h in fifth gear. Top speed is 207 km/h.

The car also gets Opel Performance Center (OPC) tuned sports chassis.
